community ResourceS

Established in 1974, Greenbelt CARES is a community based, family oriented counseling program dedicated to promoting responsible behavior and appropriate family management skills. We provide counseling services for families at our Wednesday Night Family Clinic, and individuals and families may receive counseling services on other days and times as available. We also offer weekly group counseling services to our local schools. CARES is a community based, family oriented counseling program focused on developing positive growth and understanding for all family members. The work is a collaboration between family members and counselors, focused on promoting positive youth development, reducing juvenile delinquency, and resolving issues that lead to family conflict and tension.

In addition, Greenbelt Cares offers a Youth Mentoring Program for youth ages 12-17 who are Greenbelt residents attending Greenbelt Middle School, Robert Goddard French Immersion or Eleanor Roosevelt High School.
